Noah Bigwood Youth Team Coach

Momentum Coach since 2012
Age:44
Years climbing: 37

I started climbing in a very different age of the sport before gyms, before the distinction between the various disciplines of Sport, Trad and Bouldering and when every climb felt like pioneering and adventure. That introduction paved the way to a lifelong love of the sport which has kept me exploring, pushing boundaries and sharing my passion for the pure joy of climbing.

I have traveled throughout the US and the world and have enjoyed the variety of climbing areas and the climbers who call them home. I started competing as soon as competitions came into being in the United States and have always enjoyed the focus and motivation that I derive from them. I have won competitions in Sport climbing, Speed climbing and Bouldering and I have often competed at the national level and even in the World Cup. I owned and operated a guide service In Moab Utah for many years where I honed my teaching skills on the sandstone cliffs, towers and boulders of the canyon country. It was there that I refined my two basic rules for climbing which I try to instill in all those who will listen: Number one is that climbing must be safe, number two is that climbing must be fun. If you want to be a climber you need to make those two rules a part of everything that you do because if you break the first rule you are going to break the second and if you break the second rule…why bother at all.

Rosane Coleman, Team Manager

I have been the current team manager since March of 2012. I got involved in climbing because of my son, Nathaniel Coleman. We started coming to Momentum in 2008 when Nathaniel started the climbing team at age 9. I have been involved with the team as a parent, a volunteer and now as the team manager. My husband and I climb together at Momentum and we travel to all of Nathaniel's competitions. This is an activity we can share as a family.
